Costs of volunteering and package offered.

Costs: US$ 190 as Registration Fee and $360 per month to cover your host family stay.

What the only once Registration Fee covers?
Besides to cover the VE operating costs (no salaries exist),

1. Host family picking up at the airport if arrival in Quito is from 7Am to 11PM. For later arrivals in Quito volunteers have to take taxi to their assigned family home at the costs of the VE.
2. Inscription and registration (papers and forms filling out)
3. Orientation: volunteering assigned project or programme, city transport, general advice, etc.
4. Visits to various projects and / or programmes before the volunteer chooses one.
5. Allocation to a specific project for volunteering, according to the volunteer interests, skills, or academic background.
6. Supervision on the development of the project and assurance on the wellbeing of the volunteer.
7. Twenty-four hour's assistance and support.
8. Certificate or Diploma on the completion of the volunteering work. If volunteering is more than 16 weeks (112 days) the Diploma is issued in an elegant metal on a mahogany wood frame, like the one above

What the Host Family cost covers?

1. Home located at the best residential upper middle class and secure neighbourhood of Quito, “El Batan”. Our host family homes are located very close one to another to facilitate our volunteer’s personal relations, night and weekend activities and tour plans.
2. Bedroom. It is a fully equipped room, which normally is shared with another volunteer of the same gender. Volunteers as a couple can also be housed.
3. Bathroom: shower with warm water service the whole day. Volunteer should bring his/ her own towels and personal items (hair dryer, alarm clock. etc.).
4. Board. This means two meals per day (formal breakfast and lunch) and a snack in the evening. On Sundays only breakfast is served. NO refund is possible if any meal or stay at night is not taken.
5. Laundry: Once a week.
6. Telephone. Two times a day only for local calls.

At the cost of the volunteer, upon request, only

• Provision of Spanish classes. Besides the registration fee of $30, on one-to-one basis at $210 per 20 hours class or within regular courses of groups up to 4 students at $135 per 20 hours in a week. The Spanish language training is conducted at our affiliated academy.
• Trips on weekends: Galapagos, jungle, snow, Pacific coast, etc.
• Provision of workouts, aerobics, gyms, salsa dancing courses, bullfights attendance, etc.

Application Form VE does not require you to fill out any application form in advance. However you should send a short CV (your personal and academic background); a scanned photo of you is necessary for the immigration authorities and our records. Payments. VE does not require you to send any money in advance. Once in Quito you should produce the necessary payments, which are two, the only once Registration Fee and the Host Family Cost for the first month.

Why you do not need to send money in advance?

It is for your own protection and ours. We do not ask you to wire money in advance due to the fact that we would have to produce private information to individuals we really do not know or trust; like our bank name, our bank account number, etc., which could be used for illegal purposes." Understandably, you may not want to send money to an organization in another country without first knowing and observing that organisation first-hand. This is the reason why we kindly ask you to contact our former or present volunteers or call us if you wish.
