Spanish Language School

We offer Spanish lessons at and from any level. This is possible either in our host family's homes where the corresponding student live or at our affiliated Spanish academy. The courses could be on one to one or in a group up to 4 students. In both cases teachers are at the university level.

Getting the Spanish training classes and lectures in the same host family quarters exposes more our students to the South American and Spanish language environment than in the academy. Whereas at the academy it could be more interesting place to learn the language as it is possible to socialise more with other English speaking students. Indeed, under an agreement of co-operation with a high ranking South American academy which is one of the best international language centres of Quito we also offer the Spanish language training mentioned.

The academy is of a high standard not only due to its comfortable and modern teaching facilities offered and used but to the system applied; in fact, its teaching method has been developed and refined over the last three and a half decades. Its Spanish language teaching experience goes beyond 35 years now, having branches in other South American countries, which, as a result, operate successfully.

Our program is perhaps different from that offered by other institutions whether large, small or not. We consider that an individual interested in learning Spanish in Latin America, in this case in Ecuador, is supposed to be also involved in our culture, social and economic development basics. His / her training, therefore, should be integral so that he/she would also be able to understand and feel our culture, people and language.

That is why we offer a complete package: Spanish teaching at high standards with university professors at your host family, host families from the upper middle class for a comfortable stay, and volunteering for the poor if chosen it additionally. On top of this we provide with within the Spanish training at the host family, a university level 3 hours lectures on economic and social development of Ecuador; these lectures are produced by a university professor educated in Vienna and Oxford. Long academic discussions are expected at these meetings. These lectures are produced in English translated simultaneously to Spanish. It is up to you to volunteer or not.

Affiliated Academy Quarter	Host Family Classroom

GROUPS: The group class offered is up to 4 students and it is necessary to take 20 hour class in 5 days week with the corresponding home work and library research. On one to one basis is also possible at a higher cost, although the 20 hours class could be taken within an extended period of time (up to 2 weeks recommended).

COSTS: We offer a package of a minimum one week Spanish classes (20 hours) and the family home staying for a minimum of one month (4 weeks). That means that during the first month it will depend on you either to take one or more 20 hours-week classes, the fact is that the host family cost is the same no matter the number of Spanish week classes you take.  Therefore, for your economic and academic benefit, the more weeks of Spanish classes you take during the first month, the less will be the cost of each hour class per day in Ecuador.

Indeed, each hour of Spanish class including its tuition, the university course level, room, board, laundry, welcome dinner and the tours offered, will range from $35 to about $13 per day, taking 30 days per month.  Note that the host family costs decreases even further in the second month on whether you take more Spanish classes or not.

The Spanish costs at the Academy are $135 per 20 hours class and $30 as registration fee. The host family cost for the first month is $550 per student.

The host family cost level is applicable for a shared high standard fully equipped bedroom, bathroom, three meals a day, telephone service and laundry. Students are housed in our upper class host families homes whose residences are not only located at a walking distance from the academy but in the best residential and secured neighbourhood of Quito (see photos).   

HOST FAMILY COST DECREASE:As our principal aim is to assisting poor little children in Quito thanks to volunteering, if you volunteer during the second month on wards, whether you take further Spanish classes or not, in compensation to your devoted unpaid volunteer work, our monthly host family cost decreases by 35% to only $360 including taxes, per person, in the same upper class family.
